College Closing Information

INTRODUCTION

After a period of prayerful contemplation, Beverly Manor Missionary Baptist Church, the operational authority for Illinois Baptist College, determined to cease college operations after the end of the Spring 2020 semester. We are thankful to the churches and individuals who have contributed to the mission of Illinois Baptist College in our 55-year history.

This site contains the closing information for Illinois Baptist College graduates, students and former students.

INSTITUTIONAL HISTORY

Illinois Baptist College, originally named Illinois Missionary Baptist Institute, began in 1964. According to the college’s catalog, “with II Timothy 2:15 in mind, members of Beverly Manor Missionary Baptist Church were convicted of the need of a training station for preachers.” The institution has stayed true to its independent Baptist roots by maintaining a non-accredited status for the duration of its operations.

OBTAINING STUDENT RECORDS

Students or graduates who have attended the institution under the name Illinois Baptist College or its previous name, Illinois Missionary Baptist Institute, may still obtain transcripts by contacting Beverly Manor Missionary Baptist Church at (309) 745-9229 or (309) 745-8927. You may email the church at bmbccontact@gmail.com

The college is committed to providing transcripts and diplomas to all students, regardless of the balance due on their tuition account.

In the event you are unable to contact the church, an archive of official transcripts for former students will be maintained by the Illinois Board of Higher Education.
